Our Kiosk
Built in 1860, the kiosk opposite the Tomaselli is a popular meeting-point during the summer. Even today the old chestnut trees still bestow cool shade on guests on hot summer days. And, as ever, coffee, cakes and desserts, home-made ice-cream and refreshments continue to be served. However, the kiosk also has much more to offer. Just like the officers who once sat at the tables, watching the world go by, modern guests can observe the hustle and bustle of the city.
See and be seen
Nowhere else in the old town can you experience the vibrancy of urban life to such a degree. The kiosk is by far the best venue - the perfect spot to see and be seen. Many a time do guests strike up a conversation with acquaintances strolling past. Viewed from one of the tables in the garden, the old town reveals itself from quite a different dimension: giving you the feeling of being right in the middle of the action, albeit removed from the hurly-burly of city life. Instead, you sit relaxed in the garden, fortifying yourself for further adventures and escaping the rat race for a short while, without missing out on the activity going around you. An inimitably charming way of enjoying a cup of coffee.
"On fine days one would sit outdoors, watching the elegant world of Salzburg go by."
